How to Use Retardify

1. Paste Your Content

Simply paste any text into the input box - legal documents, medical reports, technical specifications, research papers, or code snippets. You can also drag and drop PDF, Word, or text files directly into the chat.

2. Adjust the Retardifier

Use the slider in the menu (☰) to control how much simplification you want:

• 0-20: Minimal changes - just defines jargon, keeps structure
• 21-50: Moderate - replaces technical terms, adds examples
• 51-80: Significant - uses lists, analogies, very simple sentences
• 81-100: Maximum - grade school level, explains everything

3. Get Your Simplified Version

Retardify will rewrite the content in plain English while preserving all facts, numbers, and critical details. You can then copy, download as PDF, or download as Word document.

Ask Specific Questions First

For more targeted results, type a specific question before pasting your content. For example:

• "What are my legal obligations in this contract?"
• "What side effects should I watch for?"
• "How does this algorithm work?"

Then paste the document. Retardify will emphasize the information relevant to your question.

Understanding Code (Even with Zero Experience!)

Retardify excels at explaining code. Here's the best approach:

• Paste any code snippet - Python, JavaScript, SQL, whatever you have
• Set Retardifier to 70-100 for detailed, step-by-step explanations
• Get line-by-line breakdowns explaining what each command does and why
• Learn the syntax - understand not just what it does, but how it's structured

Example: Paste a SQL query with Retardifier at 80, and you'll get an explanation like "This line tells the database to look in the 'customers' table and find all rows where..."

Follow-Up Questions

After getting your simplified version, you can ask follow-up questions in the chat. Retardify remembers the context and will answer based on the document you just processed.

Multiple Passes

If something is still unclear, try adjusting the Retardifier slider higher and pasting the same content again. Each level provides progressively simpler explanations.

Use Different Models

In the menu, you can select different AI models:

• Auto: Automatically picks the best model for your content
• Gemini: Fast and cost-effective (default)
• GPT-4o: Most powerful for complex documents
• Claude: Best for code explanations

Chunk Large Documents

For very long documents, break them into sections and process each one separately. This gives you more control and better results for each section.
